Everyday Legacy Craft Distillery in Queanbeyan is redefining the way we enjoy spirits. Founders Renee Newton and David Woodruff, inspired by David’s late uncle’s distilling dreams, are on a mission to make quality spirits a part of everyday life.
With a vision to create a ritual of connection through spirits, the duo believes that indulging in a good drink should not be confined to special occasions. Their distillery, named Jeremiah after Renee’s ancestor, is a hub of experimentation and innovation in the world of craft distilling.
The journey of Everyday Legacy began with a focus on producing gins, whisky, and a unique honey spirit derived from mead. The couple’s approach to distilling mead sets them apart, offering a dry spirit with the essence of honey but devoid of sweetness.
While their spirits are still in the development phase, early tastings reveal a promising Australian Dry Gin infused with lemon myrtle and a honey spirit that marries the fragrance of honey with a subtle sweetness post-distillation.
Renee and David’s commitment to pushing boundaries extends to aging whisky in mead barrels, blending mainstream offerings with experimental creations. Their small-scale operation allows for bespoke spirits tailored for events and venues.
As they gear up for the launch of their inaugural spirits, the duo plans to distribute their creations at local markets and online platforms. Their educational initiatives aim to demystify the distilling process and foster a deeper appreciation for flavors.
Everyday Legacy Craft Distillery’s foray into the craft distilling landscape signifies a new chapter in the Australian spirits industry. Their dedication to quality, innovation, and community engagement sets them on a path to becoming a prominent player in the evolving world of artisanal spirits.
